In den goldenen Zeiten war es in Europa noch möglich, Filme zu drehen, die sich hinter Hollywood nicht verstecken mussten. Sicher, nicht auf Augenhöhe – doch was an Budget fehlte, wurde durch Kühnheit, Einfallsreichtum und pures Showtalent mehr als ausgeglichen. Wenn Reisen an exotische Schauplätze unerschwinglich waren, fanden Filmemacher stets Wege, sich mit Improvisation aus den Zwängen knapper Mittel zu befreien. Eine gute Portion Sex, Gewalt und andere publikumswirksame Zutaten gehörten selbstverständlich dazu, während grelle Plakatkunst die kleinen und großen Mängel dieser Produktionen geschickt kaschierte.

Monatlich öffnet sich ein Rahmen, der so in keinem regulären Programm existiert. Gezeigt werden Werke, die sich jenseits kanonischer Filmgeschichtsschreibung bewegen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf europäischen Genreproduktionen, insbesondere den radikaleren Strömungen der 60er bis 80er Jahre – ergänzt durch vereinzelte Abweichungen in andere Regionen, Zeiten und Ländern.Die Auswahl folgt nostalgischen Impuls, Interesse an Reibung, Abenteuerlust.Begleitet werden die Abende durch kurze Einführungen, manchmal Kontexte aber oft auch nur knappe Begrüßungen. Wer Zeit für ein Gespräch danach hat, es gibt gewiss Bedarf.Die Filme werden im Vorfeld nicht bekannt gegeben (es gibt aber Hinweise über Social Media). Wer kommt, entscheidet sich bewusst für das Ungewisse.

For Blinker, Ronni and Green MP Kathrin Henneberger, the 1.5 degree limit runs through Lützerath. They are fighting in different ways to preserve the village in the Rhenish lignite mining region. While Blinker focuses on barricades and Ronni concentrates on the media strategy of the occupation, Kathrin Henneberger tries to influence her party leadership. But they consider Lützerath to be the “wrong symbol”. After the eviction, what remains are images of destruction, memories and wounds that are only slowly healing.

Die Veranstaltung lädt alle ein, die Schule und kulturelle Bildung gemeinsam weiterdenken möchten: Menschen aus Politik, Schule, Kunst und Kultur – und alle Interessierten, die Kooperationen mit Zukunft gestalten wollen.

EXPECT_Art ist ein von der EU gefördertes Projekt, das Kunst und Kultur stärker in den Schulalltag bringen möchte – lebendig, inspirierend und nah an den Lebenswelten junger Menschen. Im Zentrum stehen echte Begegnungen: Künstlerinnen und Kulturschaffende kommen in Schulen, Schülerinnen entdecken Kulturorte außerhalb des Klassenzimmers. So entstehen Räume für neue Perspektiven, Kreativität und gemeinsames Lernen. Denn kulturelle Lernorte können viel bewegen: Sie machen Vielfalt erlebbar, stärken Selbstvertrauen, fördern Ausdruck und eröffnen neue Zugänge zur Welt – und zu sich selbst.

Die Dokumentation „Schneckenhaus & Hoffnungsschimmer - Selbsterfahrene Profis und ihre Diagnosen“ von Andrea Rothenburg begleitet Psychiaterinnen und Psychiater, einen Arzt, sowie eine Kinder- und Jugendtherapeutin, die den Mut aufbringen, ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen mit Depressionen, Bipolarität, ADHS, Suchterkrankungen und Traumata zu teilen.
Menschen also, die täglich anderen helfen und gleichzeitig selbst betroffen sind. Entstanden ist ein eindrucksvolles, sensibles Porträt von Menschen, die sich bewusst gegen das Schweigen entschieden haben. Sie verlassen ihr „Schneckenhaus“ und werden zu Hoffnungsträgern – für sich selbst und für andere. Die Dokumentation setzt ein kraftvolles Zeichen gegen Stigmatisierung und für mehr Offenheit im Umgang mit psychischen Erkrankungen. Darüber zu sprechen kann nicht nur befreien, es kann Leben retten.

Lara lebt in zwei Welten: in der ihrer taubstummen Eltern und in ihrer eigenen, in der Geräusche etwas ganz Normales sind. Schon als Kind unterhält sie sich mit ihren Eltern in der Gebärdensprache. Doch dann entdeckt Lara als Teenager ihr Interesse für die Musik und beginnt, Klarinette zu spielen. Ihr Vater Martin interpretiert dies als Affront gegen seine Taubheit und distanziert sich immer mehr von seiner Tochter.
